Elissa was my pretty subject this time. It was our first time working together but I quickly found out she also likes Sonic Youth & The Smashing Pumpkins so she passed the initial friendship test with flying colors. Our location was a cemetery. Fun fact: cemetery are usually quiet & perfectly maintained so they are a excellent scenic spot for shoots. We stayed away from all the tombstones & ghosts and made it away just fine.
Last month I had the chance to photograph my buddies Colleen & John. These two hams made excellent subjects and because we already knew each other I didn't have to act professional. (Acting professional for me simply means no dirty jokes & black humor) This was one of the few December days that was actually cold so in between takes we had to huddle up in order to stay pretty & not turn blue.
I asked my friend Daryl to shoot some stuff with me a while ago. The day before she told me she was bringing a surprise. Knowing her I expected a four-legged furry critter but she brought her boo along so it became an impromptu couple shoot.
Jasmine and I got together again to do some more studio stuff. Shout out to Brandon Woelfel for putting me on that fairy light tip. Through a little trial and error (more like a lot) I figured out a lighting set up I loved. Here are our results from our first test run.
This session's gig was a lookbook shoot for a webstore. I worked with three different models this day. It was my first time working with so many bodies and I had to do more micro-managing & directing than I'm used to but I gained some good experience (which is always key). Our locale was downtown we worked within a two block radius (mainly due to my model's footwear). I tried to get a variety of looks (as usual) and I feel pretty good about the end results.
