Summer Safari Vibes

Hooked up with Jasmine to create some more stuff this time. I originally planned to shoot at one of our state parks but after realizing how drab & boring boring it looks when it's not Autumn we decided on another spot. Anyhow we found a nice colorful spot with some aesthetic foliage to use as our backdrop. This was another pretty loose shoot without much pre-meditation beforehand. Jasmine styled herself and it worked out great like usual. We started before noon so the temperature was pleasant at the beginning but we had to take refuge in the shade once the mid-day sun peaked over the clouds. We managed to get pretty of colorful green in the background and I managed to work around the midday sun and the harsh shadows that come along with it. I did overexpose and ruin a handful of images but every session can't be perfect. I'm pretty stoked with the results we came away with and we didn't get bit by that many bugs so I'll chalk it up as a victory.

Warehouse Chillin'

So Leo and I hooked up again to create some more bangers. At this point he's become my go-to promoter/male model & I've become his personal photographer, which works out great for the both of us. I found this super colorful warehouse to use as our location for this shoot it turned out awesome. The outer walls were assorted colors, the windows & rails were fluorescent colored, and there were these random colored circle thingies scattered over the place so we took advantage of all of it.  His outfit was monochrome which helped it not clash at all with all the background color. We shot these on a Monday afternoon so we had the area all to ourselves. We aimed for some more fashion blogger themed images and I had a blast trying out new ideas.

Summer Graduation Gig

Tierney graduated the week before so and just so happened to need some photos and luckily I was around. The location was once again Overton Park (which is probably my favorite place in the city). This was during the beginning of our last stormy week so the temperature was mild and it was nice & cloudy.  My last graduation themed shoot was about 4 months ago so of course I've improved dramatically since then so this shoot was a breeze. Tierney is a friend of my sister so after questioning why the two of them get a long and why they both own over priced Christian Louboutin shoes we did our thing. I also learned she she was a fellow anthropology major and we were at the same school during the previous year. Small world huh...

Hangin' With Simone

So we shot this set 3 weeks ago and I'm just now getting around to posting this but oh well. My lovely face for this go round was my super rad friend Simone. She colored her hair since the last time we saw each other so I decided to play around with more color than usual before returning to the usual neutral-ish stuff I like. We shot in my studio so the vibe was pretty chill and fueled by a lot of indie dance music. Umm...I cant think of anything else important, so guess that's it. Anyway here are the results.

Street Style With Leo

I hooked up with Leo again and this time we shot some street wear stuff. I've wanted to shoot more street stuff and thankfully I've found a willing model. The heat wasn't as unforgiving as usual so we were able to shot in the early afternoon without melting. The clouds also acted as great light diffusers so we didn't have to fight with harsh light and shadows. Our location was downtown around Main street. Leo wants to get into modeling so he's already pretty good in front of a camera and I didn't have to give a ton of direction. Plus he had already scouted ahead of time and found a cool location (which helped make my job a lot easier). But I was still climbing on stuff and lying in the street trying frame interesting compositions. I guess you can say we ended up going with a neo-retro style for this shoot. We got a nice mix of backgrounds ranging from grungy to vibrant. Leo styled himself with a black top and some light pants so that worked in our favor to add even more contrast to our images. I only got panhandled by 2 bums which is a pretty good number for me and I didn't sweat a ton so this was another great day. Also one of these shots is one of the finalists for an Urban Outfitters ad so are fingers are crossed.
